What’s Inside in Swig Cherry Bomb?
The Swig Cherry Bomb is a creamy, fruity dirty soda made with a classic cola base and sweet flavor additions. The standard combination includes Pepsi, cherry, coconut, and vanilla cream.
My Honest Review of the Swig Cherry Bomb
I’ve worked my way through most of Swig’s Pepsi based drinks by now, and the Cherry Bomb is one I keep circling back to, though I do have a couple of notes on it.
First impression
I ordered a 24 oz with standard pebble ice on a warm afternoon. First thing I noticed was the color. It comes out deep cola brown with the vanilla cream sitting in cloudy ribbons near the top before it fully mixes in. Stir it with your straw before that first sip. I didn’t, and I got a mouthful of cream with almost no cherry behind it.
The taste
The cherry hits first and it’s unmistakably candy cherry, closer to maraschino than anything you’d pick off a tree. If you were hoping for something tart and fresh, this isn’t that drink. But honestly, I don’t think it’s trying to be. Once the vanilla cream works through, the whole thing lands somewhere near a cherry cola float, and that’s where it won me over.
The coconut is quieter than I expected. On my first order I couldn’t really pick it out at all. It mostly just softens the edges of the cherry instead of showing up as its own flavor.

Where it falls short
It is sweet. At the standard build, a 24 oz was right at my limit and I’d have had a hard time finishing a 32 oz. Pepsi is already sweeter than Coke to begin with, and stacking cherry syrup, coconut syrup, and vanilla cream on top of that pushes it pretty far. The carbonation also fades quicker than I’d like once the cream is stirred through. By the last third of my cup it had gone mostly flat.
The tweak I’d recommend
On my second visit I asked for light cherry and light vanilla cream, and it was noticeably better. The cola came through more clearly, it stayed fizzy longer, and the sweetness sat at a level I could actually finish. If you like your drinks on the sweeter end, order it standard. If sugar gets to you at all, go light on the cream. That one change makes the biggest difference.
I also tried it once with extra coconut, which I’d suggest if you want that flavor to actually register. At two pumps it’s more of a background texture than something you taste.
Who I’d recommend it to
Anyone who grew up on cherry Coke or cherry vanilla ice cream will probably love this right away. If you lean toward citrus or lighter drinks, the Refreshers section suits you better. This one sits firmly in dessert territory.
My verdict
A solid, reliable pick that delivers exactly what it promises. It isn’t the most interesting drink on the Swig menu, but it’s consistent, and consistency counts when you’re ordering through a drive thru window. I’d get it again, with light cream.
